guess what? i'm not the only gal who fancies him. (duh, obviously right?! since he's such a good catch?) but no worries though, i love the competition. nothing gives me more buzz than plotting my conquest. bring it on anytime. sometimes i think that i ought to have been borne in the china warring states period. plot here, scheme there and conquer!
anyway, over lunch today, i managed to grill quite abit of information out from a fellow colleague who has been around for close to a year. juicy juicy stuff. lol.
ok first up, bad bad news. apparently he's currently seeing someone. but no one in the team has ever seen them together before. all that is known is that her name is priscillia and she's in the last year of Uni this year. which makes her younger i reckon. hmm. depending on the course that she's doing, she's most likely a year younger than me or the same age. so age-wise no worries, think i can still stand a chance. :P
the good news though is that though they've been together for awhile already, it is rumoured that their relationship isn't very stable. colleague was saying that they will normally get into a row over the mobile and he would be in a pretty foul mood for the rest of the day. hmmm. another point on my side. looks like it's time that i start playing the understanding colleague who lends a listening ear and gives good advice (from a female's perspective). haha. but first i need to find that opportunity to catch him one-on-one.
and i think i know just what trick i need to pull out of the hat. wish me luck.

work sucks.
yes work sucks indeed. big time. how i hate this job. it's never your fault but you get cursed and swore at all the time. and you always have to eat the humble pie - "i'm so sorry about this sir. i apologize for this sir, for that mdm." oh just gimme a break man. i'm only into my second month and i'm already so disgusted at how singaporeans who claim to be "oh so highly educated and civilised" can be so totally uncouth and unreasonable over the phone. hey, call center folks are humans too you know. we are also trying our best to do our jobs. what gives you the right to yell, kick and scream at us? spoilt brats.
arghhhhhhhhhhhh.
btw, a friend just alerted me that SIA is having yet another walk-in interview next month, on 12th nov or something, at sheraton towers too i think. wtf do they think they're doing? think they damn filthy rich or what? suka suka make people go down for the interview, eliminate dozens of hopefuls (hey there were some groups where 0 made it, i'm not kidding.) and then 1 month down the road go through the same process again. waste money, waste effort and waste everybody's freaking time. what more can i say? crap management. yeah call me a sour grape. i don't freaking care.

long weekend? nah. not for me :(
the long weekends are coming soon so i should be happy right? wrong. there's no such thing as a long weekend if you're working in a call center that is. there's no such this as a weekend even. basically weekends are just like normal working days. just that you get compensated a weeny bit more cos you gotta pick up the calls while everyone else is having fun and swiping their plastic cards indulgently. of course, more swipes means a higher possibility of things going wrong or more queries made. oh brother. think i need to load up on my honey drink before i start losing my lustrous voice.
thank goodness though, there is still something to look forward to. hehehe. what else can it be other than a cute dude right? yeah don't you know me so well. *girly laughter. yes yes i confess that i've been checking out the guys at my workplace but hey, what's new? a girl has gotta have some fun once in awhile right? whoever said that you can't mix work with pleasure. yeah EYE CANDY ppleaaasure. *drools.
let's see, he's tall, he's dark and yeah, he's handsome. ok not just handsome lor but really like super handsome. he puts louis koo to shame man. no kidding. he's got a physique to die for sia (i simply love his broad built shoulders.. wonder how it feels to lean my head against them.. ahhh! ok earth to carren, earth to carren. *snaps out of it. man, can't help it lah, i'm such a sucker for broad chest and shoulders. lol.) and it seems like he works out pretty often. there's nothing sexier than a guy who takes care of himself and takes pride in how he looks. of course, too extreme and you'll be wondering if he's to uh the other side. but nah, i don't think so. not this dude. oh yes, you must be wondering about his name. haha, i'm not gonna divulge it lah just in case he chances upon my blog one day. hey you never know ok. who knows? my blog might become as famous as xiaxue or dawn yeo's one fine day you know. and won't you be proud to know that you're among the first few to read my profound rants and rambles? hahaha. gosh, i dunno what's wrong with me today, i seem to be crapping a whole lot. k i had better stop here. will drop more juicy details soon to leave you dangling for more. :P

SIA flight stewardess interview round 1
am working the night shift today. kinda quiet right now. but i had better not speak too soon though cos i'll always regret it soon after.
anyway, did i mention that i tried out for the sia flight stewardess walk-in interview last sunday? it was held at the sheraton towers hotel. never been there before till that day itself. ya, ya call me swakoo. i was there at about 9.30am and by then, there were already like 35 groups that have either gone through or were waiting in the holding ballroom. (i was in group 36 and each group had 10 girls.. so if you do the math, there were about 360 hopefuls by that time? the closing time was 12 noon so i reckon that perhaps there could be more than a 1,000 that tried out?) man, it felt so intimidating being in a room full of oh-la-la gorgeous gurls. ok most might be made up beauties but hey must give them credit for their superb make up skills too lah. some were decked up in power suits while some looked like they just came from hotel 81 or something. think it would be every guy's haven to be found in a place like that.
ok back to the holding room, there's nothing much to do besides watching the SIA gurl video on the projection screen. i reckon i must have heard that tune 'oh singapore girl, it's a great way to fly' being played at least 20 times! not to mention being told umpteen times that it's such a noble and challenging job which demands the oh-so-best personnel. yes we get the point. if not we wouldn't be waiting for over 2 hours for a bloody interview right? it was simply too much to bear after awhile and so i started to make small talk with the folks on both my right and left. must make small talk and be friendly lah otherwise you'll be bored to death. so yeah, the usual banter about 'oh is this your first time here?', 'what are you currently doing?', 'how many rounds will there be today ah?' or 'how many rounds are there ah?' and yadda yadda yadda. but still small talk didn't exactly help kill the waiting time. trust me. you must be prepared to wait your butt off.
so finally the time came where we were ushered into the room where there were 2 panelists or rather interviewers. dunno whether suay or not, but mine were 2 ladies. one kinda young and the other kinda old. so after confirming the sequence of the interviewees, off we were to give our short little introductions about ourselves and why oh why we wanna be flight stewardesses. i was the fifth person in that group so by the time it got to my turn i just mumbled whatever was on my mind though i believe i didn't sound very convincing about why i wanted the job, just gave the normal 'eh i would like to see the world' crap lor. after i was done, i was totally switched off save for a dumb smile like an idiot smile on my face.
to cut the whole story short though, only 2 gals from my group were selected. and i wasn't one of them. oh well. was it a good experience or a bloody waste of time? i would have to say it's the latter. it's no joke waiting like 3 long hours for just a 1 min opportunity to speak and get sized up. guess this is what is meant by first impressions count. but then again, first impressions are subjective, it differs one from another. one thing's for sure though. my ego is feeling pretty bruised right now.

show me the money!
yippeee! i've just received the first pay check of my life! ok it's not really a check per se, it' a pay SLIP. whatever. check or slip, it's my first official payment from joining the workforce. and that calls for a celebration. eh i treat? ok lah, on ah.
i never thought i could get through this first month of work. it's been totally crazy - trying to get to work on time, dealing with fiesty unreasonable customers (hello, there's only so much a customer service agent can help you with you know? we don't call the shots), holding your bladder so tight that you think it might burst cos the calls just keep coming in. argh. helpdesk is a totally crazy place to work in. whatever was i thinking? more on that later. i promise you that. thank goodness blogging gives me this avenue to just rant my head off. hopefully it'll help me keep some sanity whilst i hone my art in spewing colorful expletives courtesy of 'on-the-job training'.
oh and before i forget, thanks for dropping by carrenwhispers. couldn't think of any other fanciful names for my blog. but who cares, i like can liao.
