quick updates

went to brewerkz at riverside point to hang and chill out with mates yesterday over dinner. as the name suggests, it's supposed to be a brewery which brews its own handcrafted beer. throw in american-style fare and hey you get a pretty nifty place to unwind and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. oh but did i mention how much the entire affair costs? thank god we went dutch! i would have to live on bread and butter for the next month if my mates were claiming a treat from me. bombed nine bucks on a stupid appetizer basket of 5 teeny weeny baufflao wings (which really wasn't nice at all. not even the beer to go with it could save it.), tweeny three bucks on a cod fish (so-so) and eleven bucks on an apple crumble (ah, this is nice). usual banter of who's now seeing who, who's doing what job, who we suspect has gone for cosmetic enhancement and stuff. haha fun lah.

the dinner did lift my spirits slightly. have been feeling kinda sian of late especially since 2 of my closer colleagues are gonna move on to other jobs pretty soon. a month in fact since we need to serve a month's notice. so ya, even though it has just barely been 2 months knowing them, it is still quite sad. i guess it's not everyday that you meet people whom you are able to get along with, chat about anything under the sun and simply have a good time. it seriously makes a hell lot of difference to a boring drone job. to me, it's sad to know that they will soon no longer be much of a part of your life (well so to speak - out of sight out of mind right?) and the chapter of that 'good ole days we had' comes to a close. not to mention two less lunch khakis. :(

on a brighter note, i've made contact with him. it all started with a quick trip to the water cooler which lucky for me, was out of water. haha. so while i was cursing under my breath and trying to pick out which refill tank to use, whala, what do you know? along comes the dude who was also looking to refill his blue nike tumbler. and of course, being the gentleman that he is, he quickly offered to do it instead. what a sweetie right? hah. i've definitely got good taste lah. hence, from there we started to make small talk, me gushing out thanks and squeals of delight while he was beaming at me and in that deep oh-so-sexy voice of his saying that this sort of jobs should be left to the MAN. (yeah, he's man indeed.) thank god i didn't melt on the spot man when he flashed those megawatt smiles at me. gosh he was absolutely dashing! i'm really not exaggerating one bit! and you know what's the best part of it? he asked me to have lunch with him one of these days! hooray! hooray! step 1 of plan A accomplished. quick, congratulate me!
