ok i haven't given up my hope of becoming a flight attendant i gotta admit... though that failure to make it through the bloody first round of the SIA interviews last october has dealt such a great bruise to my ego. and i thought never again would i waste my time to try out for air stewardess-ing again. sob.
but i dunno wat came over me when i saw that JAL was recruiting recently. i tot to myself, 'hey hey, if sq didn't want me, then perhaps jal would be smarter than that'. thus, i found myself eagerly filling up the application form and sending it off some time last week. and what do you know? another crushing blow to my ego! this time round it's even more humiliating - i didn't even make it to the list of shortlisted candidates for the first round of interviews!!!! see la chrissy, other airlines also don't want me. wtf. at first i tot tt perhaps the mail didn't reach me or smthg and so i called them up today (cos they were sayin tt we would know by e 20th if we nd to go down for the interviews). alas, my name was not on the list. so yeah, can't bluff myself by saying tt perhaps there was a mail problem and i didn't get the letter. fact is i did not make it.
sigh. it feels even worse this time. guess i'm not fated to ever be one.
jus leave me be to go pick up the pieces of my broken ego. *sad.

back... with movie reviews
missed me? shame on you if u didn't. just goes to show tt u're not my loyal supporter. anyways, reason for my disappearance boils down to these 3 things: 1) too bz (wat's new right?), 2) went for a short holiday to TH recently and 3) too lazy - hard to get the momentum going again to blog, especially since it seems like i'm only talking to myself. ah well, so be it. i'm not expecting a grand audience when i started this blog. just wanted a place to rave n rant. so watever.
managed to catch 3 new movies the past few days. wat a rarity indeed. all 3 shows - shrek 3, ocean's thirteen and fantastic four: the rise of the silver surfer - were pretty good i must say, walked out feeling tt e moolas were well spent. trust me, i've seen so many crap shows where i walked out wishing tt i wasn't so easily conned into watching them in e first place.
bravo for shrek 3! with eddie murphy as the voiceover for donkey, tt's all u need to make good entertainment. oooh, i loved e ever so cool puss in boots voiced by antonio bandares too. simply so in character with the suaveness of zoro. storyline was so-so - villians trying to make a claim on all tt they've lost out to e goody2shoes. typical 'happily ever after' ending again but hey what do u expect? it's a kids show lah. still it's no easy feat making yet another successful continuation from the first shrek hit. i wonder wat's next? villans attacking the kids n taking them hostage? hmm anything's possible in fairy land far far away. on e whole, 3.5 out of 5 stars.
ocean's thirteen. much better than twelve which i don't have the slightest recollection of. uh hur, i tot it was tt bad. i guessed it was bcos i had pretty high expectations considering the fact tt i was kept at e edge of my seat for eleven. bloody cool hiest. coolest i've ever seen/read/imagined. whoever came up with tt idea should have tried n tested it out for himself instead. hehe, then we will see the liner 'based on a true story' in the film. how cool is tt? ok, so thirteen was about revenge n again it involved casinos and high stakes. kinda different this time round though. it was more to crush someone than just a robbery hiest per se. only stealing bit were for e diamonds. ok shan't give anything away. go watch it. not bad. i give it 4 out of 5 stars.
lastly, fantastic 4: rise of the silver surfer which i just caught lk 2 hrs ago. hmm movie was kinda short. ending was slightly undramatic and duh. guess it couldn't be helped as you're talking about a damn incredible super-duper villian here where there was nothing really that could be done. the visual effects made up for the lack of the 'zing' i guess. if u're not much of an effects and action fan, then keep away, could be kinda blah and lame for you. i like my marvel comic movies though so i simply had to watch it. but i'm giving it only 3 out of 5 stars. abit generous lah but hey, i like jessica alba too. nice hot babe. don't get much of a chance to see her va-va-voomness in this installment though. a pity for the boys.
k think it'll b awhile b4 i catch another movie. hopefully not though as there r many good ones tt are coming up like transformers(!), disney's ratatouille (nvr tot i wld say this after my 1 ghastly encounter w a rat tt ran over my foot - wat a darn cute rat!), harry potter and the order of the phoenix, etc etc. keep it rolling man!
