stupidity.

just came back from a gal's night out dinner gathering with uni school mates. cos one of my gfs is a big fussy pot, we had dinner at boring billy bombers yet again. not that the food is bad, just that it's nothing new. what i wanna rant about though is their total inflexibility to accomodate a customers' request. boo. they deserve a gems service award alright - God, E Management Sucks.

one of my gfs wanted to have something light as she was feeling terribly 'zhang-ed' (bloated / full) from her indigested lunch. poor gal. so the only thing that appealed to her was the fish 'n fries junior meal. but yeah u guessed it, the manager kept on insisting that they are not able to serve her this kid's meal cos she was obviously more than 10 years old. so she tried reasoning with the manager that hey, by offering her what she wanted, both parties would stand to gain. she'll get her small portion of food and they'll get the money from e sale. if not, she'd rather not order anything and they wldn't make a dime either! but the manager didn't wanna hear anything of it, insisted that this is their policy. fullstop. she suggested that what my fren could do was to get a normal-sized order and share it with the rest of us instead. yeah we know that alright. duh! what if an individual came alone instead? she wouldn't be able to share the normal serving with anyone then right? so how? are they gonna turn her away after all that time and effort spent by stationing their staff at the entrance and trying to attract passerbys to 'come dine with us?' can't they just freaking be flexible and accomodate the customer's request? customer is always king leh. simple logic also don't know ah?

unbelievable man. dunno whether it's a case of people adhering too closely to rules and regulations or the fact that people just have no common sense to see and do what's best for the long-run. sg customer service sure has a long way to go.

ha ha ha, imho, the pple r not adhereing to the policy, they r very flexible when come to their own thingy... they r just using the policy to fwd their agenda, maybe the mgr got a special promo he wanna push (and his bonus depend on tat?), or kid meals earn him much less bonus/commission... or maybe he has a problem with the chef who dont wanna prep kid meal (obviously he cant tell u that rite!)

forget abt customer is king, tis is just a psychological tool tat boss who wan the employee to serve the customers happily so tat BOSS CAN MAKE THE $... nothing abt the customer. if customer is willing to come regardless of the service, u wont hear abt "customer is king" from such outlet (remember those food store tat has super long qqq)

so how abt tis GEMS? hee hee hee, it is the BIG BOSS wan more customers (tourist, and gamblers) to come spend $ at your tiny red dot... same reasoning rite?

ya ya ya, just ranting... but then, if u can think of anyway to bring pple in, regardless of the service (maybe the casino, the big chance to make it big... so wat if the food and service is bad?), then u r likely be the one who will be much appreciated by big boss, boss, employee (more job mah)... maybe also the customers (they got their $, luck, luv and wat not)

ladies, i think we should go out and get the food store to serve less, not kid meal, btw, kid meals r usually badly over cooked, taste horrig! i rather dont eat tat.

ya ya ya, i m the sucker for wasting food, if only the food is good, i can be insulted and abused, same same as i m a sucker for luv, if there is anythingy tat can do to improve my luv life, i will pay for it, regardless whether the 'server' is of gd svc or not... call me sucker, nvm, i just wan it.

sharon: no leh, i didn't intend to pig out one tt's y i tried ordering e kid's size n e resultant effect - ranting on my blog. but i sure agree w yr analysis lor. last time at call center also lk tt. i'm also guilty of being inflexible so tt i don't hv to do more paperwork. opps :P n e bottom line is always abt lining e boss' pockets. lol.

cindy: wah u know wat vindicated is ah? powderful england sia. u r hereby vindicated of yr lack of vocab. hehe.

elsa: hey gal, u finally posted! it's ez-ier said then done to get pple to serve less leh. pple will think tt it's not worth their while to pay comparatively e same price for a lesser portion. btw, i heard u signed up for sdu? i was thinkin of doing so also leh (to improve my relatively non-existent luv life to date.. sigh) for all e perks.. but then scared pple say i desperate. hmmm.
